Week 13 (10.17)

This week, the rest of groups completed the second stage presentation to the class. After the presentation, each group went to meet their technical advisor to discuss their technology project. Our groups talked to Roman about the latest progress of our project. Then we met in the workshop at 1 o'clock. Roman already grind the brake caliper and rotor for us.

Then we started to clean up the old lubricant and rust on the our brake caliper. After the clean, we put the new lubricant inside the brake caliper to make sure it working smoothly. After we finished those things, we try to install the brake rotor and brake caliper in that car. But we find the inner diameter is smaller than the hub and bearing. Then we decide to grind the edge of inner brake rotor a little bit. After grind the brake rotor, it is still not fit with hub and bearing. Then, we decide to use another Holeden brake rotor. This brake rotor holes is not fitting with bolts. So we have to drill five new holes on this brake rotor. When we try to install this one on the car. It is still not fitting, the inner diameter is still too narrow. Finally, we give up to test our project on this testing car.

We go to another workshop to check the Range Rover car whether it is meet our requirement. After we checked, we think this car should be meet our requirement. But the best choice still is to find a suitable new second brake rotor, that should be easier for us. If we cannot find new brake rotor, we are going to test our project in the Range Rover.
